sometimes you just need to take a step back and marvel at the absurdity that is the left-NIMBY mindset

these are not normal, rational people. they have descended into a bespoke form of madness

Here’s the thing. San Franciscans didn’t pass a property transfer tax that funds social housing, they passed a tax that goes to the general fund.

Proponents lied about what this does. They continue to lie about what it does You can’t just wish funds for things

I would read whole profiles about whatever blessed souls actually get deliveries at the front end of the day long window shippers provide. What did they do right that I’m not doing?

In a city full of NIMBYs, Connie Chan is one of the biggest. she’s also super anti-transit and opposed measure RR that saved Caltrain during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, Scott has led the cause for almost every pro-housing and transit bill

Scott vs. Connie is the definition of good governance vs. bad

The 4200 Geary affordable housing for low income seniors & veterans was “built” using:

SB 35, a permit streamlining law I passed that’s resulted in thousands of new affordable homes in San Francisco

State density bonus law that allowed more units & more height

$52M in state housing funds

This is rich. Connie Chan says she “built real affordable housing, not the Sacramento version that destroys our neighborhoods.”

She points to new affordable housing on Geary: housing that she didn’t build but that *was* built using “Sacramento version” housing laws & $52M in state funds. 🧵

The San Francisco "progressive" playbook:

1) Oppose new state housing laws

2) Demonize the people who write and advocate for them

3) Take credit for the affordable housing projects those laws create

4) Repeat

As someone currently represented by Connie Chan, I can’t really wish this on anyone else.

In our upside-down world of our politics, it’s called “progressive” to try and lock our neighborhood in amber and fight new housing, to stump for highways and cars. I reject that sfstandard.com/2025/11/20/c...
