This is a photomontage work created in Adobe Photoshop. It is a combination of original photography and a scan from the Public Domain. (credited below) The foundational layer of this work is a photograph of La Vittoria (Victory) Statue, created by sculptor Vincenzo Consani, in 1859. The statue was placed in the Palazzo Pitti at the time of creation and it remains there to this day. It is surrounded by ornate frescoes and gold architectural details. Areas of this photograph were hand painted to reach desired visual appearance. The statue itself was cut out, scaled down, and placed in the bottom lower right of the canvas. A blend mode was applied to this layer. The line work is from an illustrated menu card from a banquet held in honor of French actress Sarah Bernhardt on December 9, 1896. The artwork is by Alphonse Mucha, a prominent artist of the Art Nouveau movement. There are three women in the illustration; a central figure, dressed in flowing robes and a headdress of foliage, is being attended to by servants on either side, who caress her hair and serve her fresh food. The menu features several wines and a variety of dishes, including oysters, salmon, and pheasant. This layer has been manipulated using distortion transform controls and blend modes.
