$10.22 Million.

That’s the average cost of a US data breach in 2025.

60% of these aren't "exotic" hacks; they’re human error.

Risk management isn't a cost center. It’s insurance.

Stop checking boxes. Build a framework that actually scales.

Funny, because stockholders as recently as 2021 filed suit against L Brands for breach of fiduciary duty with reference to Epstein involvement and sexual harassment claims. L Brands quietly settled it after taking a beating.
JUST IN: Les Wexner submitted a written statement to House Oversight ahead of his testimony on Jeffrey Epstein.

In the letter, Wexner says he was “naive” and duped by Epstein, calls him a “con man,” and insists he cut ties nearly two decades ago and had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct.

The Unseen Hack on the Bus: Why Your Open Laptop is a Corporate Liability + Video
Introduction: In an age where cybersecurity budgets skyrocket and AI-driven defense systems are deployed, the most significant data breach often starts with something laughably simple: a wandering pair of eyes. A recent observation by a cybersecurity engineer on public transit highlights the pervasive threat of "shoulder surfing"—the visual hacking of sensitive information in plain sight. While one commenter dismissed the risk as "clickbait," this incident opens a broader discussion about the human factor in security.

And rightly so, because they DIDN'T know better. So now they're defending their reputation and arguing against how you're percieving them...not whatever the rule breach was.

Or on the topic of scams, they're trying to prove they're not a gullible rube who should've spotted the scam not fall for it.

Breach of contract cases brought by students are by no means unknown. And there have been warnings recently about consumer law problems if universities don't deliver what they promise, but here delivery was actually impossible.

Constructive dismissal claims are notoriously difficult to win.

These are when someone resigns their employment, arguing that the situation was so bad at work — that a "fundamental breach of trust and confidence" occurred due to management actions — they had no choice but to resign.
Management @qmul.bsky.social lost yet another Employment Tribunal: the judge ruled it constructive unfair dismissal.

Can we please keep senior managers under control *within* QMUL? They keep using uni money for fancy lawyers & be told by judges that they can't actually do the things they do...

And that’s why it’s so frustrating. Northamptonshire and The Met are subject to the same Data Protection Act as Gwent, South Wales and Dyfed Powys so there shouldn’t be this discrepancy.

Surely, if something is a DP breach in Cardiff, it’s a DP breach in Corby.
