Some stock footage of Alnwick castle on the River Aln ⬇️ is used in #StarTrekTNG's "Qpid"⬆️ to stand in for Nottingham Castle in the episode. Some earlier Robin Hood productions (the 1984-86 TV show and the 1991 film) have also been filmed there:

Another random historical link in Alnwick is that the White Swan Hotel has the wood panelling of Titanic's sister ship The Olympic. So you can really imagine what it was like to rearrange deckchairs on the Titanic.

HARRY POTTER: BTA AND WARNER BROTHERS
The BTA have asked if you will write on their behalf to Warner Brothers (WB) about the restrictions being placed on the dissemination of the BA's Harry Potter promotional map.
Recommendation
That you do not write yet. The sensitivities are described below, and our experience of Warner Brothers is that a ministerial letter would not help at this stage. We will explore with friends of DCMS in the organisation how we can take this forward.
Background
This is not a simple issue. The main elements to bear in mind are:
i. it was far from easy to secure filming of Harry Potter in the UK. The wishes of JK Rowling were of importance here, but not overwhelmingly so; we helped by changing the regulations on the employment of child actors, and while the second film in the series will film here there is still no certainty about the third and subsequent episodes.
WB and JK Rowling are tremendously protective of Harry Potter; at times WB have appeared heavy handed (and have admitted as much), but they are keen to prevent the Harry Potter image being tarnished in any way. JK Rowling has, in her own way, been just as fierce in this and we are never clear whether any particular intervention is from WB or Rowling
iii.
Permission to film in many of the locations was very difficult to secure. Some were only secured on the basis of confidentiality agreements which do not allow them to be publicised; the cathedrals involved (Gloucester and Durham) while clearly identifiable, are said not to be keen on drawing close

Adventure Location: The Garden of Morlinde

When the Second Dragon War ended, the Brotherhood of the Whispering Ring was heralded as heroes. Many of the Brotherhood were happy to serve as the heroes and role models for the new and fledgling world, but not all who become heroes do so deliberately. While the druidess was happy to help overthrow the Undying King, Morlinde later retreated from public life. When the public would not leave her alone, she created her garden.

Located on Ishon, The Garden of Morlinde is more akin to a noble’s chase than a proper garden. To help ensure her isolation, the Garden is brimming with toxic plants of all varieties. White Bryony and Bittersweet vines swing from Manchineel, Yew, and Strychnine trees. Amid the ground cover, Foxglove, Oleander, Monkshood, Nightshade, and many other varieties of toxic flowers sway gently in the wind.

It is a fool’s endeavor to enter the Archdruid’s toxic chase. Only the most brash or foolish dare to enter and walk along the dangerously sweet pathways. Only the most desperate seek Morlinde in her home.

Today I saw an old man in a Spurs toque at Alnwick Castle, the historic home of Henry Percy a.k.a. Harry Hotspur, and I hope this man was there as some sort of Spurs pilgrimage.

Mum still wants to move to Alnwick & we've been talking about multi gen living a lot of late - it might be quite possible!
