Guess what? It’s rained all week again! But on the bright side the snowdrops are now out.

Heard the first curlew this morning & a mass of lapwings this afternoon. It’s probably the earliest return I’ve known on the Pennines but it’s so beautiful to see & hear them again.

Morally (and contractually) obliged to point you towards our new album, available to pre-order via @fikarecordings.com.

Produced by us and mixed by John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea And Cake), it's an indie pop beauty. Full thing out 20/03 on LP/CD/DL:

East Kilbride pals! For my next project I’m looking to chat to someone knowledgable about the early days and buildings of the new town. Any suggestions?

After days of rain, yesterday we finally had some brief shafts of light breaking through the cloud cover.

Listening to this for the millionth time and still hearing new things - murky piano chords mixed low, vocals double tracked (or ADT?) the double tracked leads by Richard Lloyd, how much Verlaine is singing from the stomach, the beautiful EQ job. Like all truly great music it is, at times, baffling

We Were Gods Once.

A storm crossing Dartmoor. In the last 4 weeks we have had 3 such storms. Everything is soaked to its bones, roads are submerged, and a pier has disappeared.

There's something quite magnificent about how Winter has reminded us of her strength.

Harbottle footbridge over the Coquet river.
“The bridge stands alongside a ford across the river, which is rough and deep, hence the need for a footbridge, and there is likely to have been a bridge here of one form or another going back many years.”

Francis Cadell first visited the island of Iona off the west coast of Scotland in 1912 and returned every year afterwards, frequently in the company of Samuel Peploe. He felt the light was of the same quality as that in the south of France.
