One of the most significant concerns is what’s happening in Antarctica, where there are vast reservoirs of #methane.
If humans continue to warm the planet, these seeps could go from “a natural laboratory to an epicenter of danger”.

Warming water leading to methane release. That is one of the feedback loops that scientists have warned we need to avoid. Causation and scale are not yet known for these ones in Antarctica, but it is... worrying.
Planet-heating methane is escaping from cracks in the #Antarctic seabed as the region warms, with new seeps being discovered at an "astonishing rate", scientists find, raising fears that future global warming predictions may have been underestimated.

At Dalk Glacier in Antarctica, scientists detected seismic signals they suspect were caused by temperature variations, resonances of fluid-filled subglacial fractures, wind, or commuter vehicles. Find out more in #SRL ⚒️

Most meteorites come from asteroid belt debris, and one of the easiest places to find them is in Antarctica, because black rocks are very easy to spot when they land on snow and ice.

Best luck! SLR is a bear, especially with what’s been going on in Antarctica, & next “big one“could be rough on areas built on fill.

Dare I repeat to you again, but, you can’t account for everyone, there’s always the twat in the room and people are people. I don’t let them poison my life, I call it out when I see it, but nobody and no one can account for all of it, sadly. You can move to Antarctica, you’d still find it.
