I recorded this today, in Portland, Oregon, at a huge march to the ICE facility in SW. The crowd was full of cyclists who had ridden there in memory of Alex Pretti; members of several labor unions; and ordinary citizens of every age, including this little girl. So of course ICE deployed tear gas.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

If you look at it purely politically, this whole campaign has been a public relations disaster. Immigration was one of the strengths that helped Trump get elected and, in Minnesota, the department of Homeland security, ICE and the Border Patrol are so unpopular that this happened. A complete fiasco
