It's for the same reason people such as Jeffries wanted to make crystal clear that they're anti-socialism. Establishment Dems are always terrified of looking "radical" by embracing values that protect and promote the general welfare of average people.
I think @wajali.bsky.social was clear. He acknowledges the current fight, but asks @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social to lead on the long term goal of abolishing ICE. I don’t understand the leader’s reticence on that very simple, and frankly moderate position.
A simple ? from Wajahat Ali pushes Hakeem Jeffries into a crashout:

This. Just because we know the forces of evil will attempt to destroy everything doesn't mean we throw up our hands and act as if it's *already* destroyed.
I'll be honest, I don't expect fair elections for the midterms. But I'm going to push for voting anyway because we can't just hand this country over to them. We've got to fight to the bitter end to restore Democracy in this country.

The *only* names that should be redacted in released documentation of criminal activity are those of victims who haven't agreed to have their identities made public, and confidential informants. Alleged perpetrators and suspects don't deserve such consideration and shouldn't have it.

I, for one, am not encouraged by the reality that many GOPhuKKKs leaving Congress are apparently doing so to make gubernatorial bids. Greater GOPhuKKK control of the nation's governorships would further entrench Reich Wing power and move us even closer to authoritarianism.
