My humble opinions are my own.
Lib Dems produced the 🔶️1st HKBNO Cllr in UK
🔶️Surrey Heath Borough Cllr
🔶️Bisley Parish Cllr,
🔶️Chair - CESEA Lib Dems
Fluent in English, Cantonese & Mandarin
🥋Karate 2nd dan black belt
Is it politically in irrecorrect to call oneself a British Hong Konger? As a Lib Dem, I feel liberated enough to call myself that.

I stand with all who had to run away from their own countries due to transnational repression, war and those facing the loss of human rights.

As per Dr Al Pinkerton, MP, said, the support for SEND in Surrey is abysmal. Let's start from schools. Many lack EHCP support for SEND children from the county council. Just so you know, Surrey County Council is currently a Tory majority, lead by Tim Oliver, OBE.

The whole point of having a free press (at least in theory) is to hold the govt accountable.

GovHK has made clear repeatedly that it believes the role of the free press in Hong Kong is mainly to be a govt megaphone and promote the govt's interests exclusively.

So.
"A free society cannot exist without a media that speaks the truth." laments Apple Daily reader & court watcher Ms Chan, saying that with the loss of Apple Daily, nobody is monitoring society, adding that maybe the Tai Po fire could have been avoided if Apple Daily still existed.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Amnesty International, interviewing migrant detainees, identifies use of the confinement box. There can be no denying it is a torture prison

It’s time to chainsaw the Brexit red tape and end the cost of living crisis. Labour MPs should back our plan for a new customs union.

About 2000 ppl turned up for the rally in London on 6 Dec 2025 to protest on the Mega Embassy of a totalitarian regime, & remind the Labour govt not to change terms retrospectively on humanitarian route visas, refugees & asylum seekers. A minutes' silence was also observed for the tragic blaze in HK

The silent majority of British people are crying out for politicians to come up with practical solutions on immigration.

That means recruiting more caseworkers, getting the backlog down, letting asylum seekers work and pay their way and creating safe and legal routes for refugees.

Interesting, as friends and I have been surmising that the buildings with nets around the scaffolding are projects where the bosses have clear consciences and those buildings with "naked" scaffolding -- some of which are right next to each other! -- are ones whose bosses have guilty ones.

The Animal Welfare Bill by @DannyChambers.bsky.social has become law.

This is a turning point for animal welfare in the UK - eradicating cruel practices, stopping pet mutilation and cracking down on the scourge of illegal puppy smuggling.

Personally speaking, getting rid of the jury system smacks of the shredding of democracy. It's, as the saying goes, the beginning of the end.
MP’s must resist any attempt by the government to undermine and restrict one of the fundamental cornerstones of our democracy. Write to your MP now!
🚨The governments controversial plan to scrap jury trials for crimes with sentences of less than 3 years is a huge mistake, will make little or no difference to the backlog and will undermine and restrict one of the fundamental cornerstones of our democracy

WE MUST STOP IT

I'm sure there will be denials. However, the contractors have been arrested. Whether they will be convicted on harsher sentences than the political activists remains to be seen.
The Hong Kong fires is a political story, not a bamboo tragedy. It is about what happens when institutions are no longer accountable because of the erosion of the rule of law. When a government focuses on controlling the people, not serving them. When civil society is crushed.

David Lammy was right in 2020 when he called the jury system fundamental to our constitution.

Now the government wants to remove juries from all but the most serious cases. It is dangerous and wrong and the Prime Minister must reverse it.
