On the same day that the owner of the Yankees said he isn't turning a profit, the Mets POBO said "sure" when asked if the Mets can afford a "top-tier outfielder." What a time to be alive.

Don't threaten me with a good time.
Tatsuya Imai brought the "I come to bury Ohtani, not to praise him," vibes in an interview with Daisuke Matsuzaka last night.

The Seibu Lions ace doesn't want to join the Dodgers, he wants to beat them. Thanks to Ayako Oikawa for help translating: www.mlb.com/news/tatsuya...
Ace pitcher Tatsuya Imai wants to 'take down' the Dodgers to win a World Series

David Stearns barely hid the smile on his face when he was asked if the Mets can afford re-signing Alonso and Díaz as well as signing a top tier free agent.

I think he'd prefer a gold watch but this is nice.

That's what the money's for, Charlie Brown!
I was there, Charlie Brown. I was there 3,000 years ago, when Isildur took the ring. I was there when the strength of men failed.
My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die, Charlie Brown.

Okay I'm ready for another trade.

The Mets traded one member of their Fab Four, so Andy Martino only has three Beatles displayed in his background. Well played sir.

Oh boy. The Mets play the Rangers in Texas during the final week of the 2026 regular season.
November 23, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Mets are sending $5 million to Texas to slightly offset the dollar difference, per Jon Heyman. Man, the Mets love sending the Rangers money.

I believe Jeff McNeil is currently the longest tenured Met. For now.

You just hope Marcus Semien isn't the next Carlos Baerga or Roberto Alomar.

I'm serious: with Nimmo gone, there's nothing stopping the Mets from naming Lindor captain now. I'm pretty sure that was the only thing stopping them. (Personally, I don't care either way. You don't have to make stuff like that official.)
Aside from whatever weird clubhouse shit was happening in the background, the Mets desperately needed to get Nimmo off the roster or they were going to get very stuck. Getting back a very useful roster player back while dumping out of years 4 and 5 is uh bery good
in the sense of "can't believe" good or "can't believe" bad or just General Surprise
November 23, 2025 at 10:46 PM
You should think it's sad that Nimmo is gone, but it's a good trade. Definitely helps the defense.
Roger, what am I supposed to think of this trade. Seems… not great.
November 23, 2025 at 10:45 PM
If my math is right, Marcus Semien has 3 years and $66 million left on his deal. Brandon Nimmo has five years and $103.5 mil remaining. Semien (35) is a few years older than Nimmo though (32)
