OpenWRT had a vulnerability in their build system. OpenWRT is great but imagine if it had reproducible builds like Guix, Nix, or Debian? Trusting signatures from a centralized build system just doesn't cut it anymore.

I'm trying to find a USB C Ethernet adapter you can buy off Amazon reliable with Linux. Both Amazon Basics and UGreen seem to be absolute junk. Both appear as usb_ncm to the kernel. Basics works but flakes out requiring replug. UGreen doesn't recognize a cable is plugged. Any USB C with rtl8152?

The scale of curtailment is staggering. In CAISO in 2022, 2.4 million MWh of utility-scale wind and solar were curtailed, a 63% increase over 2021. At the average rate for electricity in California of $0.33/kWh, that’s a $800(!) billion loss. #energysky

Impressive. Fedora 41's DNF package manager is *wayyyyy* faster. It seems to be smarter with parallel downloads and upgrading packages somehow also goes faster.
