ICE kidnapped a permanent resident in Minnesota today. They let the individual go after realizing they had authorization. Don’t be fooled, ICE is still discriminating against our neighbors based on the color of their skin. 1/

I have been aggressively so Minnesotan enough my whole relationship with my wife that it has successfully resulted in my wife going on a rant to her psychiatrist. (1/2)

People keep talking about how decentralized the resistance is in MN, and yes there is no singular figure, committee, or group coordinating all things. That's very different than there being no structures (plural), groups (plural), or leaders (plural) keeping things going and building things further.

"Mutual aid, as much as it’s a resource thing, it’s also a love and energy thing. People need support—they need cheerleaders, they need people to hug... It doesn’t have to be organizing a whole network. It can literally be bringing dinner to your neighbors.” - Ashley Fairbanks

Yikes. The Latino-owned businesses in Mercado Central in Minneapolis report a 90% dip in business since the major influx of federal agents into Minnesota. This is where I’d go to get my Mexican groceries and my pozole fix when I lived in the Twin Cities

The lynching of Francis McIntosh is widely considered the first public lynching in the United States modern history. Part of McIntosh's history as a victim is that they left his charred corpse, tied to the same tree at the same street corner he was burned in downtown STL, for years as an attraction.
ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

Rent day is coming up, and there are still a lot of Minnesota families who need rental assistance. While we wait for Walz to get his shit together, I donated to the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund, and if you’ve got some spare cash, consider sending some there way: www.wfmn.org/funds/immigr...

Hey friends.

Edison mutual aid is running out of funds. Can you please give or share if you can? Needs are astronomical.

@ziibiing.com I haven’t checked if this one is in your list. Please add, gracias!
Sharing a local school fundraiser for students and families that have had to be in hiding for weeks. We have a robust system for getting mutual aid to families in need.

Please help.

For every person in the street in a video of something big there are 20 at each school each arrival & dismissal, dozens of drivers of kids & groceries &c, a spreadsheet maintained by a team, people feeding people, people checking in on people, supply drive coordination, rent fund establishment...
It's not just "stand up to ICE when you see them," it's building many vast networks of support and trust to
- create safe spaces
- protect schools
- get kids TO school
- check on neighbors
- deliver groceries
- help pay the rent
- let people know of danger
- feed the helpers, too!
- and on and on

I do. Think it’s very funny that Baltimore DOT and DPW thinks anyone in this metro has chains or snow tires. Would they actually help? No. They all took driving lessons from the most demonic squirrel you have ever seen in your life.
❄️ UPDATE: We’re moving from Phase 2 to Phase 1 ❄️

Road conditions are improving, and the snow emergency has been downgraded to Phase 1.

🚗 Snow tires, chains, or all weather radials are required
🅿️ Parking on Snow Emergency Routes is permitted, but discouraged

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

There isn’t any indication that immigration activity has changed in Minneapolis. In fact, this afternoon, federal immigration agents began staging at Holy Rosary Catholic Church located in East Phillips. This activity is disgraceful and creates an unsafe environment for our neighbors. 1/

An extraordinary document. Read it.

“Attached to this order is an appendix that identifies 96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases. … ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”

One small thing you can do today: ICE is ramping up in Maine. Food For All is delivering meals to 300 families that can't leave their homes. They need $7k a day to continue operations. The Culture Study community is raising enough to cover a day—join us?

This is unconscionable. Evil.

But it happened in May 2023, when Biden was president.

So no, we don’t “reform immigration detention,” we destroy ICE, CBP, and DHS. We can’t reform this soul sickness.
Anadith Danay Reyes Álvarez died in government custody.

She had sickle cell and congenital heart disease but couldn’t access timely and adequate medical care.

We need to reform immigration detention.

please remember that no matter how many “ICE is losing in MN” articles you read today, there is still a very real, urgent, ongoing crisis in Minnesota.

people need food and they need rent money. that has not changed.
