This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

I miss the days of living next to the infant Arkansas, but now that I live on a continental divide the real question is, what's your waterfall?
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building.

Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained.

The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

Congress must pass the Right to Read Act!

This legislation protects students’ access to books and supports librarians.

A postcard delivered to a legislator’s desk makes a powerful statement.

Frozen Fascists tried to enter a Minneapolis McDonald’s kitchen without a judicial warrant. The security guard blocked their access while other staff called the owner.

The ICE pricks were trying to search for individuals but had no names & no warrant allowing entry into the private employee area.

I've been getting their emails for a year or so now, and their action checklist is always fantastically achievable (if you're looking for a way to participate) while their good news list is a really nice bonus

They tried and failed to pass this bill last year, in part bc it's wildly unconstitutional. The good news is these bills are identical to the ones last year.

The bad news is if they pass, creators all over the country will be legally imperiled all over the nation.
The Senate companion to Bankson’s Book Ban Bill (HB 1119) dropped this afternoon right before the filing deadline.

It was filed by Senator McClain under the number SB 1692 (same number as last year).

Here’s coverage out this morning on the House version:
