Sodebo, one of this year's Jules Verne Trophy contestant (world circumnavigation with no restrictions), has a permanent live video feed. They are about to sail round Cape Horn. I fail to imagine how people and machine don't just shake apart at those speeds over such distance.

Here's a lovely post (and video link) from Catherine Munro about Shetland ponies in winter. I highly recommend her lovely book The Ponies at the End of the World.

Our Dartmoor ponies are tough and weather-wise too, but winters here are not so fierce!
With all the #snow in #Shetland I thought I would share my video on Shetland ponies and weather.
It will only let me post a little here but will put link to full video in comments

there's at least three (+1) distinct aspects to the "do something" exhortations:
1) do something physical, with your actual body (tippy tapping fingers on this screen does not count).
2) MAKE something: make there be something in the world that was not before.
3) contribute to a larger cause.

We’ve seen this in Chicago. Now we’re seeing it across the country.

ICE is a lawless secret police force and must be abolished. This is fucking horrific.
Absolutely horrific details about an ICE shooting in Minneapolis.

A witness says a woman was trying to drive away from an ICE operation and the ICE agent "reached across the hood of the car and shot her in the face like three, four times."

Bovino was there.

Half-hearted bipedalism for the win
Here's Eve the 3 month old capybara at the Miami Zoo demonstrating one of the OTHER many ways capys have of moving through the water: half-hearted bipedalism.

Note that eyes, ears and nostrils are fully above the water line.
