@wizardru.bsky.social
Gamer, Father, old school nerd. Lover of Boardgames, Tokusatsu and goofy stuff. He/Him.
I will bang this drum on the regular - the Flash Gordon daily strip by @danschkade.bsky.social is a masterclass in short form storytelling. The art and text just do so much in a small space. Hopefully we'll get print collections eventually, ...and that will be a great day.

Also: Bok is GREAT

OK, YOU should still absolutely not release a video talking about the charges against you. Powell gets the one-in-a-million exception because he knows what he’s doing and is resisting authoritarian trash.
Let us all stand with Chairman Powell.

“Gotham Central” (2002-06) by Ed Brubaker & Greg Rucka with art by Michael Lark was a police procedural set in Batman’s Gotham City. It was an innovative and influential revisionist story, underscoring and reframing the human costs of the superheroism. 1/7 #GothamCentral #Batman #ComicsStudies

👻 Ghost Lift

In this macabre, dark humored card game from Japan, players desperately try to shed all their cards or become haunted by their previous hands. Sai Beppu nailed the Edward Gorey-inspired art and helps elevate the gameplay.

Hello new friends, thank you for the follow! 🙂 I’m a graphic designer in the board game industry - I’ve worked on over 50 game titles including War Chest, Let's Go to Japan, Santa Monica, Zoo Vadis, Dice Miner, and Votes for Women. I particularly love the icon and logo design parts of the process!

It's gonna be a Portland Syrups Dry January...or @troegsjason.bsky.social Drinky January.
I'm getting mixed messages here, Inbox.

Cue Morgan Freeman: "It would NOT be a Dry January."

Listening to #CNBC for the last two days has been extreme, even for them. It's not just that they're platforming all of the White House talking heads and accepting their narrative lock, stock and barrel - it's the gleeful correspondents smacking their lips at seizure of Venezuela and Greenland.

Today's strip recounts scenes from Alex Raymond's very first FLASH GORDON strip from January 7th, 1934. There's some slight tweaks to make the time period a little more ambiguous, but whatever I could keep from the original story, I kept.
