Shawshank redemption has the weirdest cultural position of any movie. If you think it’s a bad movie you probably don’t like good movies. If it’s your favorite movie of all time you probably don’t like good movies. If you like good movies you have probably never thought about it for more than 5 mins

I finally saw Frankenstein and a few things:
-It managed to be more true to the original story than any other film version while mixing up the plot, which was… okay
-It should be watched on the big screen
-Only GDT could have directed it
-Give them the Makeup and Production Design Oscars now.

I’m biased but I’ll just say Cheers. Ironically, for a show about a former baseball player they watch (and bet on) a lot of basketball, football, and hockey.

This triggered a bizarre memory for me: at one point the audio from the local CBC station was rebroadcast on an FM channel on the radio. If I wasn’t home in time I would occasionally listen to the KRP episode on my Walkman while on the bus home.
