It's because she doesn't know how to be the head of CBS News. Just no clue what a person in this role does. Similar to how Pete Hegseth and Sean Duffy don't know how to be cabinet secretaries.

A hallmark of this movement is people being out of their depth. It says, "expertise is unnecessary."
I’m sorry but why is the head of cbs news on tv herself

Today, I spoke with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his wife, Jennifer. In April, when I met with him in El Salvador, Trump said he would never set foot in the U.S. again.

This case has never been about one man alone; if the govt can violate the constitutional rights of one, all our rights are threatened.

This is really solid investigative reporting from the Sun-Times. And a brutal expose of Greg Bovino, the cosplaying tough guy who has terrorized so many immigrants in Chicago. Read it all. chicago.suntimes.com/the-watchdog...
Greg Bovino’s the star of Trump’s deportation show. We trace his roots.
As a boy, the Hollywood movie “The Border" set the course for his life. He couldn’t believe the Border Patrol agents in the movie were the bad guys. Now that he’s in charge of deportation efforts caus...

Trump’s fascism has gotten bad very fast, because they’re mimicking Nazis from TV. They’re relishing playing the scary villains.

But Trump’s fascism is also very brittle, because they’re mimicking Nazis from TV. None of the institutional supports are there; that part isn’t ever in the movies.

If Greg Bovino does not go to prison for the rest of his life after this regime is ousted, we do not have a real country or rule of law. I'm skeptical we still have either at this point, but that will be a good indicator post Trump regime of whether we have serious people in charge again

If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

Also the Right: I demand you conform to my elaborate rituals designed to guard against me fucking you

Oh. Cool. Just as the President is using every power he can to suppress dissent and stifle speech, @whitehouse.senate.gov and the @judiciarydems.senate.gov are trying to hand Trump a new tool to suppress speech online.

What a joke.
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

That is something we point out in the story and which quite frankly well placed Dem sources have telling us for weeks if not months: in the event of Trump’s doing a wave of preemptive federal pardons for admin personnel who Don’t have his broadened immunity, state AGs are still a thing
Then each state in which a person was illegally detained or in which any state law was violated should prosecute.

Chavarria, a U.S. citizen, was held at the airport "for more than four hours and released only after he finally agreed to let the agents search his smartphone, tablet, and laptop computer. The agents...informed him that he had no Fourth Amendment right to resist." @pacificlegal.bsky.social is suing.

WOW. @haleaziz.bsky.social with a new scoop: ICE now gets a running list of every person who is going to be taking a domestic flight inside the United States from the TSA and runs it through their database looking for targets. This explains the Babson College student's arrest.

The 25th anniversary of Bush v Gore is today. The conspiracy mongering & corruption of the GOP has been brewing for a long time.

Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh were all on Bush's legal team, where they pushed unfounded legal theories. SC justices were already enmeshed in voter fraud myths.

In terms of US politics, Bush v. Gore is the defining event of the century. It set the template: a ruthless right that instinctively seeks power & doesn't give a shit about rule of law...and a bunch of hapless, feckless octogenarian Dems worried about the good opinion of centrist opinion columnists.
