At last, today is the day. I am immensely proud to announce that JavaScript for Everyone is here.

Tell a friend, tell a Slack channel — write it on a slip of paper, fold it once, and slide it across your boss' desk without breaking eye contact. _It's time to get weird._

So, looks like I have _I Am Gonna Claw (Out Your Eyes then Drown You to Death)_ stuck in my head for the rest of my natural life, huh?

I've started using Lynx for a couple of things — for real — and I regret to inform you all that It Rules, Actually:

Big news, everyone: this is it! This is the one! This is the last thing I will ever write! I am never writing anything ever again!

View transitions are pretty neat, and I was fortunate enough to write a piece for @piccalil.li about putting them to work.

They're such an exciting new part of the web platform, and I'm elated to see new and boundary-pushing effects making their way into production.

Every ounce of my willpower to not respond to an “I’ll book some time on their calendar” just now with “so mote it be.”

On the plus side, at least that Elementor WordPress plugin is named “Elementor,” so I can write things like “ah, Elementor—my old foe! Thine markup remains as shambolic as ever, I see” as wizardpost placeholder for myself in accessibility documentation.

There are no other plus sides to Elementor.

@arturo182.bsky.social Hey, is there any shot at a Serpente comeback one day? They'd be the perfect little board for slapping together custom Framework expansion cards.

Kind of a long shot, but any of you dorks know of a tiny board like this male one available anywhere? I need to add a couple of keyboard-mapped buttons to a tiny ~1.5"×1.5" enclosure.

See, my Windows VM pipes audio out though my normal headset, but my Mac VM can only do audio if I provide it with a USB passthrough device, and that’s why I'm standing in a literal padded room wearing two sets of headphones and listening to NVDA and VoiceOver at the same time, like a normal person.

As I’ve mentioned, the JavaScript for Everyone lesson on iterators was one of my favorites to write (frustrating as it was at times).

Well, thanks to our friends over at @smashingmagazine.com, you can read that very lesson right now!

JavaScript For Everyone: Iterators — Smashing Magazine
Here is a lesson on Iterators. Iterables implement the iterable iteration interface, and iterators implement the iterator iteration interface. Sounds confusing? Mat breaks it all down in the article.

There's a new #CSS Working Group poll to get feedback on different names for the infamous 'Pinterest' layout.

- Since it uses many of the grid-* properties, `grid` will be in the name somewhere
- We don't use metaphors in CSS names, so `masonry` is not listed here

Ex-Masonry Display Type Keyword Poll
See https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12022 for context. This poll intentionally leaves out `masonry` as an option, see https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/12022#issuecomment-34172962...
