My story "Spit" is now available as a pay-what-you-want ebook. argylewerewolf.itch.io/spit

Spit is a grimy hungover first-person crawl through gender, lycanthropy, body horror, risking detransition, skeptical allyship, species euphoria, cheap meat, and bodily fluids.

Make your self, at any cost.

REAL
i was curved in on myself, shoulders trying to drop me to all fours in the dirt. my muzzle was *there*, and my mouth hung open. my gums prickled with teeth, and my jaw cracked and every movement. my legs were like piano wire, their muscles twitching under my touch. it was real. really happening.

I’m gonna come out and say it: Vancouver is having a spectacular fall.

- Minimal rain
- But also nice CRISP temperatures, puts us in the season
- Summer not too hot, so trees kept their leaves, creating full cover for nice colours
- No elections or giant weather events to distract from joy

I’ve had 8 years of HRT as of today.
Whenever I'm feeling particularly bad about my body, due to injury, illness, or dysphoria, it's helpful to remind myself how far I've come. From sedentary, self-loathing computer boy in 2010 to confident ultramarathoner & cool/weird aunt in 2025.

I made the mistake of telling the cockiest guy at the running club what distance I'm hoping for at the backyard ultra next year. I need to re-wire my brain so that my default responses to such questions are "I'm going to train hard and see what happens" or "I'm not sharing that info at this time".

Okay. The closest I have come to seeing myself in a game, or to having a door to that sort of self discovery open even a little, was in a now-gone “playing a werewolf in Skyrim VR” video. It was short. No talking. just in-game audio.

wrongshape is fucking me up really badly and what's making it worse is that i can't articulate the specifics without A) thinking i sound like a broken record, B) thinking i sound insane, or C) feeling compelled to writing a fuckin short story about it

the weresheep costume is, imo, still one of the best practical monsters of all time
it's a shame you don't get a very clear shot of it in the movie because it looks fucking amazing

Anti-vaxxers exposing Hays Code ass diseases to the general public is antisocial behavior that at one point would have required compulsory isolation and social exile. Instead, the Raw Milk Typhoid Mary community is allowed to continue their dunderheaded agenda unabated. Unsettles my spirit.

It's gonna be really tight this month for us, and Ben has already taken on a lot of extra work. I'd really like to help out. Please consider buying a commission from me. 💖
Here's my commissions link! I'd also be super amped if you wanted to join my kofi monthly support. It makes a huge difference to me.

As usual, CMTR shows how it's done. Multiple posts over multiple days on all platforms, plus email newsletters, and the web site had registration dates up a month ago. Their newest race sold out in FIVE HOURS. Gary, Geoff, & co stay winning!

Also hi Elaine! Good job!
Well, that escalated quickly. The 2026 Alpenglow 100 has SOLD OUT in 5 hours!

Thank you for the incredible enthusiasm. We’ll see 800 of you in the middle of everywhere in July.

No waitlists, no extra spots. You’re either in… or volunteering 😉

The folks at Happy Trails decided to announce their 2026 registrations NOT on their site, NOT via the email newsletter I signed up for ages ago, but in an Instagram post that basically says "registration is open! No links! Just Google for 'name of race you want' + 2026 to find the Race Roster page!"
