Paint sharing time! I've been dipping my toe into #Warhammer #TheOldWorld recently, and while I have yet to actually *play* a game, I like building the models. Do I like painting them? I think so but since there's so gosh darn many of them, I need to figure out how to get it done quickly. 1/

Took the day off today to make a nice juicy 4-day weekend (reg Sat and Sun joined to Tues Veteran’s Day). Spent most of the day unearthing some words from the #wordmines, hitting a vein of 3500 words towards Adventures in Faerun: Cormyr. About 1/3rd complete, hoping to get more done tomorrow!

I have embarked upon a quest. A foolish quest? Time will tell. The quest is to paint all of the minis in my board game collection. Perhaps that shall inspire me to play more of them? Who knows? I’m starting with the RPG adjacent games. Talisman (3rd Ed I believe) was first!

The new Forgotten Realms books are out and I’m a HUGE fan of the new direction of D&D. The books have new subclasses, the return of feat chains, Epic feats, stats for some of Faerun’s greatest villains, a plethora of one shots, and expands on the realms outside the Sword Coast. Fucking LOVE them.

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

Whew! Dragon Mountain is painted and done, at least to my personal liking. Lots of surface area but mostly it was a series of drybrushes over black primer - heavy brush of gray, then progressively lighter drybrushing of olive and alabaster. Hoping to bring this to a con in 2026, maybe Gamehole Con!
