i'm told steve brandt, who is a DFL endorsed elected official, was also turned away at the DFL listening session because he had a backpack. he'd biked there, and the organizers did not tell us backpacks were banned

That’s my plan too. I believe I saw a former DFL candidate trying to get in and running afoul of the unpublished rule as well

I think it's fine as an initial, "can't we all just get along" message. But I'll believe it when I see it. Why do you think it's such a bad idea?

Therefore be it resolved, five years of planning and engagement fist fights are too much, and we should just follow city policy that calls for building these kinds of streets.

Whereas the Uptown Association previously claimed that a pedestrianized street is incompatible with a pedestrian fair, but has reversed course and now says they're bringing the art fair back.
