This iridescent, dendritic (from the Greek word dendron, meaning tree) #perovskite likely formed from volcanic gases released from a volcanic vent, or fumarole. This crystal is from the Eifel Mountains, Germany. Perovskite can be beautiful!
More on dendritic crystals in the comment.

I learned today that I was not the first Prof. Dr. Stefan Weber at @unimainz.bsky.social: Dr. theol. Stephan Weber was a catholic theologist who acted as professor from 1607-1618 and even became rector of Mainz University in 1615. Another Doppelgänger for my list:

We mourn the passing of Prof. Hans-Joachim Queisser (1931–2025), one of the founding directors of our institute. A pioneer of semiconductor physics and co-creator of the Shockley–Queisser limit, his vision shaped generations. We will remember him with deep gratitude. www.fkf.mpg.de/8744972/2025...

He also suggested that man-made CO₂ emissions had caused around half of the observed warming.”

The volume of mining and material use with EVs and renewables is massively in favor of clean energy, mainly because you can reuse batteries for decades and then recycle them. Oil, gas, and gas must be constantly moved.

To destroy it is easy, quick & nasty.
