Hey fyi for anyone from Washington seeing this, the senate now released a similar bill to this called SB 6111. This bill will basically require ALL users to submit their ID to ALL social media platforms.

I'm genuinely concerned because there might be a chance this bill passes.
From what I've read, 5 democrats have sponsored this bill. It has bipartisan support in the legislature.

Everyone is shitting on Bluesky for this even though it's not their fault. Bluesky legally cannot exist in the UK, where a large base of Bluesky users are, without complying with their laws. If Bluesky users have a problem, yell at the UK.
