really interesting to me how many professional political commentators have basically retconned the draconian immigration enforcement policies of Obama and Biden out of existence and have completely swallowed the right wing narrative of immigration enforcement

Another thing about arguments like this is that they act as if AI has the autonomous ability to just take jobs. That’s not the way the world works. It takes infrastructure and logistics and coordination on an enormous scale. You can’t just replace white collar work because a technology gets good.
I'm not even saying that's the most *likely* possibility, but it's just very clear that the likelihood of that outcome as increased and even if there's, like, a 1 in 10 change that "AI replaces most to all white collar jobs in 10 years" that's an *enormous* risk to the social order!

That the NYT still writes this stuff when everyone knows that Musk is full of horseshit (including the reporters at the NYT!) is honestly shocking at this point. They think you're stupid. They know he never does anything he promises but they write it anyway. Utter trash.
Elon Musk told employees at xAI, his artificial intelligence company, on Tuesday that the company needed a factory on the moon to build A.I. satellites and a massive catapult to launch them into space.

In a meeting with employees at his company xAI, Mr. Musk revealed a vision for a facility that includes a giant catapult to launch his satellites into space.

When a nation breaks the world’s trust, forgiveness does not come quickly or easily.

That’s a hard lesson Americans, even progressives who might absolve themselves of contributing, will have to learn as we grapple with the damage Trump has done only a year into his second term. trib.al/5QVZZco

Circle back to this one. It’s still a crime for an agency head to lie to Congress, last I checked.
Asked about the Maine ICE agent who told a protester that her info would be entered into a "nice little database," Lyons said there is no such database.

"There is no database that’s tracking U.S. citizens."

lmao. seems folks forgot that the dem establishment, and clinton campaign specifically, adopted a strategy that supported trump in the r primaries because they determined he’d be the easiest republican to beat in the general.

they spent money helping him get nominated.
Democrats, pay attention.

Organizers from the Left Wing aren't pro-democracy, any more than in 2016, when their attacks on Hillary Clinton put Trump in the White House or in 2024, when Uncommitted attacks on Joe Biden returned him to power.

Weakening solid Democrats doesn't fight fascism.
