Donald Trump’s inner circle isn’t motivated by doing what’s right for the country. Their focus is enabling Trump’s authoritarian desires and indulging his worst impulses, and we will all suffer for it.

I'm increasingly convinced Trump's inner circle is giving him busy work (the White House ballroom, Kennedy Center, presidential plaques, gold decorations, etc.) while they essentially run the government. He admits that he doesn't even know who he is pardoning anymore.

Politicians/candidates are like a pre fixe meal that you are forced to eat entirely.

Don't bother trying to tell me the creme brulee dessert is great when the main course is dog poop.

Doing so only lowers my estimation of your judgement.

The networks that carried last nights campaign stump speech because they are afraid, will get what they deserve.

I am pretty sick and tired of hearing about how bad journalists have it when they continually fail to do the basic job informing the public.

Perhaps not a hedge (in the traditional sense), but perhaps an uncorrelated source of return (the sweet spot for 'alts').

Like most things, it ebbs and flows.
Gold and the S&P 500 have both done well this year (+64% and +16%, respectively), but they remain virtually uncorrelated assets. Over the last 100 days, their correlation coefficient is just 0.10. In September 2024, it was -0.50.

Neither politicians nor the electorate are serious about it (in any form)
