I don’t know what the right move is and, separately, I don’t think we can get a real sense of what closed-door negotiations look like from the public signaling politicians do to the press, so I really feel like there’s nothing to hold onto here

I went to a supposedly progressive and accepting high school in the early 00s, but only a few actually came out in high school, then there was a wave of it freshman year in college. Kind of an “oh shit” moment for me.
