It's been over a year and countless iterations but *finally* I can announce that my Masters thesis project, a historical strategy deckbuilder based on the Late Bronze Age is finally playable!

Requires Tabletop Simulator to play as this is still just a prototype of the eventual game, but enjoy!

As a public Civ 7 Defender I was sort of anxious that the new changes would back away from what made the core game interesting, but I’m actually pretty impressed with how they seem to be folding “playing only one Civ” into the layered strategic decisions of switching civs.

update - it is coming together *very* quickly such that I might have a prototype next week, which is exciting!

Abolishing ICE and prosecuting its members and leaders for their crimes, without possibility of pardon, seems to me to be a basic condition for any future attempt at a return towards democracy.

Apropos of Carney invoking it, the phrase "the strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must" (from the History of the Peloponnesian War) was not, in its original context, a pithy summation of realpolitik. It's a moment of stark hubris; the Athenians who said that *lost the war.*

just like with Hitler there's cowardice--everyone knew that Munich was despicable betrayal--but with Trump there is a related but distinct behavior, to so many elites it is actually incomprehensible that It's Happening Here, Now
at some point you have to see it as a psychological issue. the people who run this country are cowards. the media who reports on them are cowards. they have never been able to face what is happening, they are committed to a project of persuasion: pretend everything is fine and it magically will be!
The president is a mad king threatening war against America’s closest allies because he’s got a psychological fixation on an empty frozen island and a Nobel Peace Prize snub and the best the media or opposition can manage is “Trump changes America’s priorities, perhaps for the worse”

What am I, made of money?
What was your first controller breaking game experience?

Me? Mega Man 2. Wiley's castle. 10 year old me was not up to snuff. I was so angy.

Listening to BLOOD WORK is now mandatory, I don’t make the rules
"Maduro is a brutal authoritarian dictator," I wisely intone, as the corrupt demented paedophile US President violating Constitutional Law while operating a gestapo and concentration camps illegally arrests a foreign leader on charges which read like they were written on a paper placemat in crayon.

Was gifted KCD2 for Christmas and my short pitch for it is that last night I started it up solely to practice my archery. Not to do quests or even because it gives XP, just hang out for a while and practice for my own sake. And it actually helped.

The best version of this is that early conversation in Disco which loops to:

“Did you take the body down from the tree”
“Mhmm”
“So the body is no longer in the tree”
“Look, man, you know, yeah”
“Does that mean you removed the body from the tree”
“… No.”
Please…. I’m begging you… if your game has a dialogue choice… and all the answers say the same thing in a different way…. You can just remove the dialogue choice……
