we didn't finish denazification. we didn't finish desegregation. we didn't finish reconstruction. every opportunity for transformative change was deliberately sabotaged by american leaders who knew their wealth would not survive a world freed from eugenics, white supremacy, and war profiteering.
people do understand that the nuremberg trials were largely show trials to distract from the fact that the US was poaching any high profile nazis that were beneficial to their cause & that denazification in the west sectors didn't really take off

gbstudio should be used in beginner programming classes and I am only half kidding here.

not me genuinely considering reaching out to whoever owns Porter Robinson's "Goodbye To A World" because I still am 100% convinced it would be the perfect credits theme for mindshift.

And I fucking hate the caveats especially "NO CRIMINAL RECORD."

People who have criminal records ALSO deserve dignity. OK.

Also don't import a bunch of assets/music etc if you have the editor open and you haven't saved, sometimes it might just freeze. Lost hours of work due to this.

pro-tip for any gbstudio dev out there...

do not work off a USB stick.

those things are slow.
January 18, 2026 at 9:32 PM
a feature I wish gbstudio had was the ability to export your palettes to a format aseprite/libresprite accepted.

the reasoning here is that it is tedious as all hell to manually copy each hex code from gbstudio to libresprite.

just replayed my demo and I'm sad now.
January 18, 2026 at 6:39 PM
I was today years old when I learned you can import pre-colored images into gbstudio and palettes will be automatically created for said image (provided you follow some limitations)

a lil update on this: switching to linux has greatly improved the efficiency of builds (i.e. takes less time and doesn't freeze up on me).

if you are making a heavy project in gbstudio I HIGHLY recommend dual booting into linux for playtesting, makes the process a lot less painful.
I MIGHT, MIGHT be able to finish this project.

I know the engine was groaning in pain at me before but I think there's a possibility we can get this working better if I install linux on my machine as a secondary OS.

Steam is saying that devs only have to disclose if they use *visual* slop, so I will once again promise here that my game will use no slop at all.

No coding tools to make my code worse, no ai Photoshop shit, no generative ai slop period.
Looks like Valve defanged all the bad faith "Butbutbut what if my *tools* use GenAI, and I don't know it??? 🥺" moaning from some gamedevs by clarifying that the mandatory AI disclosure on Steam is intended for player-facing content
Steam updates AI disclosure form, requiring developers to report visible and in-game AI but not background tools

not me shamefully crawling back to gbstudio.

I would NEVER do that.
