”The regime must constantly escalate.”

That is what is happening. Constant escalation, with little resistance from Federal, State or Local offcials. I’m glad the mayor said F-ICE, needed to be said)

It’s a recipe for the end of democracy as we know it.

It’s closer than it seems.
Escalation to watch for: civil and criminal threats against people calling the ICE murder a murder, especially state and local officials and members of Congress. The regime must constantly escalate.

I just came from the Venezuela briefing; can confirm this insane plan to indefinitely take Venezuela's oil at gun point and use it as leverage to micromanage the country.
We're back in the nation building business. And we're going to make oil guys rich. Also, it won't work.

In Memphis no less.
“The top donor to the Republican Party is running a company making sexual deepfakes, even of children.” Is a 100% accurate message that leaders should be repeating.
Keir Starmer's spokesman tells me that X and Grok's creation of sexual deepfakes of children is "completely unacceptable" but again won't commit to taking direct action against them, or to stop posting there.

Says "all options are on the table" but suggests it's a matter for Ofcom, not Government

Rick Scott has the distinction of running a company that got a 1.7b fine for defrauding Medicare/Medicaid On his watch.

So clearly he’s the ”go to” guy to talk about healthcare.
BARTIROMO: What is the GOP's healthcare plan?

RICK SCOTT: Many times you can buy it way cheaper by just going directly to a doctor or a hospital or surgery center rather than going through the insurance product. Let them buy their own insurance.

We need more leaders with deep pockets and safe seats to do the same.
Warren cuts checks to state Democratic parties
Warren cuts checks to state Democratic parties
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is donating $400,000 to 23 state Democratic parties in an effort to fund Democratic infrastructure ahead of the 2026 midterms. In an interview, the Massachusetts Democrat called the “early money” investment “crucial” for state parties. She’s urging fellow Democrats to follow her lead on donating now because “the best time to do it is January, not waiting until next October.” The 23 states are ones with competitive congressional or statewide races in the 2026 midterms, and include Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas. “They need the resources to build out infrastructure that all of our Democratic candidates will need to win in November,” Warren said. “They need money now to hire staff, recruit volunteers, knock on doors, make calls, do all the things that make Democrats competitive in these elections.” She’s also raised more than $1.1 million for candidates this cycle, while weighing in on a handful of contested primaries. Warren, a longtime progressive champion, is urging candidates to focus their campaign messaging on “the high costs that families are struggling with every day” and “make it clear that we have solutions and that we will fight to deliver real change.” In 2018, Warren also donated $250,000 to state parties, a sign of her early presidential primary preparations ahead of the 2020 campaign. But when asked if the same applied to this year’s investment, Warren said, “no.” “Democrats need to win elections everywhere, and I am 100 percent committed to making that happen in November 2026,” she said. X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

So, Schumer and Durbin have the same communication style...

LIMP.

What do we win with LIMP?

IJS, gotta have some fire. I've seen Durbin get fired up. I've seen Schumer get fired up.

If YOU out of fire, RETIRE. (Durbin is, but still)
Durbin, a Profile in Don't Hit Me

A day after US Sen Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), strongly condemned Trump's attack on Venezuela as "reckless and unconstitutional" Sen Dick Durbin (D-IL) posted to "disagree" with Trump and "worry deeply about this Admin’s follow through on foreign policy interventions."
However, I disagree with President Trump’s use of U.S. military forces without Congressional approval & worry deeply about this Admin’s follow through on foreign policy interventions.

Legislate the NO
If Trump is really stealing spending power from Congress then it would be insanity for Democrats to vote to fund the government later this month. Shut it down until the president stops wiping his ass with the Constitution.

100%
I'm sick of treating Republican officials like they have no agency. They could stop this tomorrow. If they cared about the country more than their jobs, they would. And if they're too afraid of stochastic violence, then maybe they move decisively to end Trumpism.

This is bullshit, and the states need to call it that in public, while calling it that in much nicer terms in their court filings.
The Trump administration sent out letters tonight to 5 blue states, freezing about $10 billion in funding for child care and social services programs pending a "thorough review," citing concerns over "systemic fraud."
5 Democratic-run states are told that their child care funds have been frozen
The suspension of the funds could hurt low-income families in those states, depending on how long it lasts, advocates say.

WTActualF? So, all the people who told me my old, walkable neighborhood would be the end of me were wrong?

20 years in and I'm not looking back. #MidtownIsMemphis
A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.

So look, I know I've been piling on Schumer and all, but how the FUCK hard is it to do this?

Like really?

When you do something good, don't look through your spectacles and make everyone feel shitty.

And when you can't do anything, rage and call bullshit what it is.

That is ALL I'M ASKING.
Mamdani just released a speech on social media about... fixing bike lane access. Always gotta flood the zone because, like you said, that's the job. bsky.app/profile/mise...

Jeffries, as House Dem leader, would HAVE to endorse him. Like, that's all DEM leadership does...incumbency protection.

Hochul is another story that probably has some to do with incumbency, but more to do with Goldman's fundraising, and more hawkish stance in support of Israel.
