if memory serves, ron baker hogged the ball down the stretch against julius randle's kentucky wildcats in the sweet sixteen(?) when clean anthony was fucking balling out. if he had just got out of the way and let clean anthony cook who knows where we'd all be right now
This was a real category on Jeopardy tonight. Incredible.

Longlegs (2024): Sadly I am going to declare this a stinker. Too much going on: cop ESP, satanism, ciphers, weird guys. The last 20 minutes explicitly explaining all the weird stuff killed the momentum. Nick Cage would have gotten arrested for the murders immediately due to being such a freak

Listening to this podcast for the first time and thrilled to hear somebody describe their 2013 basketball opinions as built on "DeanOnDraft-adjacent math" (also apparently Dean got hired by the raptors??)

The Naked Kiss (1964): Sometimes picking a movie based on a cool Criterion DVD cover does not work out. This one was kind of a dud, the sort of melodrama that I don't particularly enjoy. I know "hooker with a heart of gold" is a film trope but this hooker might have the gold-est heart of all time

next step for jaylen is to get his 3PA up from 3.5 to 5+ per 36. he isn't super hesitant right now but he has to be an actual threat to be useful against good teams

Good news: If you would like to watch Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants on YouTube I have done a painstaking 4k upscale of this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0gW...

Pope Leo calls for Criterion box sets of Hou Hsiao-hsien’s Taiwan and Urban Youth trilogies. “The faithful need to see The Puppetmaster in its proper aspect ratio,” the pontiff declared, “and Good Men, Good Women needs a restoration to take its rightful place as one of the great films of the 90s.”

2046 (2004): The ending of In The Mood For Love (2000) is among the best final scenes in movie history, so a sequel seems deeply superfluous. The futuristic story-within-a-story sucks pretty bad.
With that being said, I will not turn down a chance to watch Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi smolder

"The single determining criterion for involuntary commitment is danger. Is the defendant a danger to himself or to others. You think you got the horses for that? Well good luck and God bless, but I'll tell you this: The last place you want to see me is in court."
If we send you this, it means we have a new Nancy collection on the way...

Tonight's wolves pick is wolves -7.5 (-108). I know the Wolves are on the second half of a road back-to-back but they beat this team by 40 less than a week ago. Awooooo
So far: 4-5, +2.7% ROI
