In 1995 I took a train from Belgium to Budapest Hungary. We knew we'd crossed into Hungary because there were uniformed men with big guns storming into the car yelling "PAPERS! PASSPORTS!" At the time it felt like oh wow, that's what it's like to be in a very different kind of country. Yeah.
