Never have I ever read a book that switched from third to first person narrative a third of the way through. I got nothing against pov switches but this feels egregious.

Coming together

A screenshot from the video game Dragon Age: Inquisition from the Wellspring Level of the Descent DLC. It features a mountain on which a platform has been constructed of stone. There are two rings of pillars around a central feature where a blue, glowing heart is cradled in the pillars. Veins of the same glowing blue reach above it as if sprouting from a stony aorta.

A picture of a stone mountain constructed out of foam and painted in approximate realism. On top of it sits a plastic platform in miniature of the platform featured in the video game screen shot. The pillars, platform, paving stones, etc. are all unpainted as of yet. In the center sits a the lump prototype of the heart cast in clear uv resin.

Work in progress for my deep roads diorama. Putting together a titan heart and the prototype works! Now to simply put the platform together for real.

My hand holding a tiny, misshapen resin blob in the vague shape of a heart. The two pieces slid around during drying so it's kind of fucked up but it's fine this is just a trial run.

The same resin heart sitting on top of a foam piece carved and painted to look like a rocky platform. A blue led light shines from within the foam lighting the clear resin up beautifully.

As part of my new years resolutions, I wanted to do a style and skill progression from January and December to mark how useful it was to do anatomy studies every month.

Do your studies people. Don't skip the boring stuff.

Jan '25: a watercolor painting of a plant person with some kind of purple flower (lavender? I forget) growing out of their head and shoulders. Their body is somewhat skeletal with wood patterning for skin as if made of bark. They wear colorful robes of green and blue. And coral that are scalloped at the sleeves. Their arm is extended out on which a large vulture with humans hands for feet is coming in to perch. They are framed by a white and yellow sun on a mottled background of purple and blue.

Dec '25: a redrawing of the original with a better composition: more. Dynamic poses than just standing. The plant person now sits with their legs to their side, they support themself with one hand while the other is extended out for a bird to perch on. Their robes are now yellow and blue, with intricate swirling patterns and the same scalloped sleeves as before. Like before it is open in the front, revealing a somewhat skeletal creature with bark instead of skin for... Uh skin. Out of their head and shoulders grows mimosa (sensitive plant) with little purple flowers and sparse leaves. They look upon the other figure in the drawing with a pleasant expression.
The bird in question is has a vultures body but has a human head instead, with a beak for a nose and clawed human hands instead of feet. They are coming in to perch on the plants extended hand.
They are framed in a white circle, with a brown and red floor, on a field of mottled purple and blue. The colors are more cohesive than the alt text describes.
