Every metric shows that X is not just unpopular but largely considered lame by anyone younger than 30. X tries to counter this by saying it’s still the best megaphone for outlets but anyone who tracks clickthrough traffic also knows this isn’t true.
Elon's little serfs are quite literally begging journalists to come back because every publicly available source of data shows people have fled the platform and young people won't use it.

They are literally begging regular people to come back. Don't do it! It is a website by and for actual Nazis!

Look love the Ron Howard directed Grinch if you want. But I refuse to get onboard with this holiday classic nonsense. It is ugly, loud, and mean. Worse it totally misses the point of the source material.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Pet theory on the ELLA MCCAY sex scarf. As one piece of dialogue makes reference to, Ella may be--consciously or not-- trying to dodge the fate of her mom re a cheating spouse. Hence the frequent midday sex meetups with the hubby. (Cont)

A mass shooting at my alma mater Brown University hit hard, proving no community is safe from senseless violence in a land with more guns than people

Trump added insult to injury by claiming there is "nothing you can do." We can do a lot about guns

When you get married you talk about how you like to celebrate the big holidays. The things I said about Christmas were not traveling more than an hour/obe house besides ours (we're both kids of divorce and spent our childhood years running hither and thither to satisfy all parties) (cont)

I just wanted to thread some of the great stuff my colleagues at Vulture have had published this week. Starting with @roxana-hadadi.bsky.social taking the Catholic angle on "Wake Up Dead Man," a thing I haven't been able to stop thinking about since I saw it. www.vulture.com/article/the-...

"AI is a tool."

No. Empirically not. A tool empowers people; helps people. It solves an extant problem. Generative AI in creative mediums is being used as a cudgel that diminishes and eliminates people, and the only "problem" being solved is fiscal.

Stop validating it, even in passing.

I understand that a lot of folks have been misled by fear-mongering and powerful regressive voices but it’s still astonishing to me that so many have fallen for the idea that oppressively policing other people’s gender identity and expression could in any way be part of an enlightened future.

Things we learn:

1. Bovino's existence is the result of chain migration, which MAGA wants to ban

2. His family arrived legally under an immigration law MAGA wants to repeal

3. His father killed a woman while driving drunk, a crime for which MAGA aims to deport immigrants

And much more. Read it.
Greg Bovino’s the star of Trump’s deportation show. We trace his roots.
As a boy, the Hollywood movie “The Border" set the course for his life. He couldn’t believe the Border Patrol agents in the movie were the bad guys. Now that he’s in charge of deportation efforts caus...

Sometimes people who love physical media are so focused on what is the BEST stuff, when sometimes good enough is good enough to start. This applies to disc players, turntables, etc.
A (quite) young movie lover said to me recently, "Not everybody can afford a DVD player," and I said "How much do you think a DVD player costs?"

He said, "I don't know, like $500?"

Those of us who advocate physical media are maybe not doing the best job of messaging.
