COUNTING CROWS: HAVE YOU SEEN ME LATELY? is a music doc made with skill, but @UnGajje.bsky.social can only mildly recommend it as it never finds the sweet spot where diehards and newbies can enjoy it in equal measure.
Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately? reveals a piece of the band but it’s just a little piece
In the spirit of the band chronicled by director Amy Scott’s new documentary Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately? here’s a bit of naked vulnerability. I’m a massive Crows fan. Their first album,…

the most notable thing JD Vance has done in the last five years is tell vicious racist lies about immigrants. If you think he hasn't taken a side on bigotry, you are an idiot. He's for it. He's very strongly for it.

I don't name my cars but I do name buildings in my life. My childhood home is Stately Stevens Manor (an easy one). My home now is Sanctum Sanctorum. The loft where my home office is is Triskelion. My on-site office is The Kingdom. I am, how do you say, whimsical.

It took about 16 hours from arrival for my father-in-law to walk in on me in the bathroom. Thankfully I had finished shaving and was picking up, thus fully dressed.

Also I sent him to a car wash that ripped the front license plate off his car so maybe we're even?

really cannot be emphasized enough that bari weiss has literally never done journalism. i don’t mean that in the pejorative sense. i mean that in the “has never performed the job she was hired to do” sense
One explanation for Bari killing the story is that she did so as a public act of fealty to the administration. But another is that, as an inexperienced journalist, she doesn’t understand that a refusal to go on the record is a kind of comment in and of itself

We never had to, you just hate the idea of ever thinking about anyone but yourself as human for 30 seconds that you decided it was a crime for people with different skin tones to ask for equality and equity, you fucking ghoul.

This is a very strong piece that does the seemingly impossible: discussing Sydney Sweeney in an even-handed and headed way.
I tried to unpack the enigma that is Sydney Sweeney, who is telling a different story about herself on screen than she is off (and in various endorsements). Don't yell at me lol. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/21/m...

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.
Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there.
