See you there

This is why you need small conferences, round robin scheduling, and champs only
November 29, 2025 at 4:36 PM
That’s sort of how I feel about today. It wouldn’t make sense to call a team the best in Vanderbilt history if they couldn’t beat Tennessee, so making that 10th win dependent on getting over on the Vols is right and fitting. The stakes are as they should be.
November 29, 2025 at 4:33 PM
I think this may be where Clark Lea’s head is. If you win seven every year at Vanderbilt you’re untouchable, if you won 9 every year you’d be a god. Defining success by making the playoff is asking for trouble.

I feel like the tournament at least forces you to run a gauntlet guaranteed to include the top stanine of the sport. And if you begged your way in as an 8 or 9, you tend to get exposed pretty quick. Not wrong about “just how real life works” tho frfr

“…but if his TEAM DON’T FIELD—“
November 29, 2025 at 6:19 AM
No one wants to admit that there have *never* been 12 legit contenders for the title by November and most years there haven’t been six, and that’s before considering the tragedy that is modern conference size and scheduling
November 29, 2025 at 6:08 AM
But what’s irritating as Hell is that three of the teams that will finish ahead of us weren’t even in this conference when Obama was re-elected. So I am more than happy to be left out of whatever super league Fox and ESPN try to hash out. Better to reign in Hell, etc

This is exactly what everyone predicted would happen: Texas shows up, gets a couple of big wins and suddenly wants to be considered the indispensable team.

Bring back the SWC and do the world a favor.
