Holy moly: Seattle’s millionaire tax, passed last year, is expected to bring in $115 million in its 1st year, way more than the $50 million anticipated.

The funds will go to the city’s new social housing developer publicola.com/2026/02/11/t...

(Is NY Gov Hochul paying attention?)
Seattle’s millionaire tax is a huge success. Here is how grassroots groups beat big money and are now raising tons of money for mixed income, rent stabilized housing. (We call it “social housing.”)

This is a far more appropriate reaction to modern horrors than most politicians have been able to muster.
Interesting story out of Ledyard from The Day of New London:

Ledyard town councilors silently - and with provocative posts - protest ICE

"F--- ICE, and f--- off if you support ICE. P.S. if your life sucks, it’s not because of immigrants. It’s because you suck.”

$5,000— That’s the cost of admission to get in the room with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is coming to Connecticut to headline a fundraiser this week. Not to listen. Not to learn. Not to respond to what people here are enduring.

Isn't it interesting that Ryan Fazio's big idea to make electricity less expensive doesn't ask one penny less of Eversource? Putting global shareholders over every resident and business in the state.

He might as well campaign as Eversource for Governor.

it's always fun to see how far Republican candidates will go to debase themselves to win a primary that leaves them wholly unelectable to normal people in the general.

Erin's fatal mistake was not being independently wealthy. Historically, no one in that party cares what you think if you're rich.
