ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

New: we dug into Epstein’s dealmaking in Silicon Valley. He used his connections with tech’s elite to get into hot startup deals, some of which paid off handsomely (coinbase) and others that did not (jawbone).

While reporting this, I had something happen that's never happened. A comms rep for one of the co's disputed my reporting and said what I was telling them was untrue because it was not in Grok, xAI's chatbot.

I was looking directly at the files. And this person was using AI to challenge the truth.
Epstein had many known connections to Silicon Valley CEOs, but less known was how he made money from those relationships.

We did a deep dive into how he got dealflow in Silicon Valley, giving him shots to invest in Coinbase, Palantir, SpaceX and other companies.

Society won’t progress until every generation from boomers to Gen Alpha stops obsessing over memes and lulz. We need intellectualism back so badly. Maybe Gen Beta will be so pissed off at what older gens did to the world they’ll bring it back but they won’t be able to vote until 2043.

again we’re seeing how the glide path toward authoritarian overreach here is disrupted by regular people than by big institutions or the powerful people who run them
this now brings us up to six (!) grand jury refusals to charge (that we know about), plus two cases filed as part of the dc surge dismissed on the us attorney's office's request
NOW: Another grand jury refusal — this time a woman accused of threatening President Donald Trump.

Judge Boasberg said last week the threats appeared to be the "rantings" of a woman with no ability to carry them out. A D.C. grand jury apparently agrees. www.wusa9.com/article/news...

I feel like in the 1980’s/90’s this would be a major plot point in a Tom Clancy novel, and the operation would be carried out as an off-book, illegal black op, with various characters trying to cover it up lest they face congressional hearings. Now the President just announces it.
Here's the video Trump just posted to Truth Social, with the claim that 11 people aboard the boat were killed.

There is zero evidence of self-defense here. Looks like a massacre of civilians at sea.

Even if they had drugs aboard, that's not a capital offense.

Call me delusional but there’s still a way to prevent the Medicaid cuts. Just have a blue wave midterm and Democrats can restore the funding from 2027 on. Give Trump something he can sell as a big win somewhere else (get creative) and he’s not gonna veto Medicaid funding. I think. Maybe.

I co-report for The New York Times: Zohran Mamdani was born in Uganda. He doesn’t consider himself Black but said the application didn’t allow for the complexity of his background.

I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.
