Apex may no longer be with us, but their art remains.
Do more art. Write stuff down. Make music. Take up space.
You'll never know what people need in the moment after you're gone.

There are few songs which make me instantly remember my close friends, b/c they're like a warm hug. This is one.

I grew up on Tower of Power. Met a member, have signed pic from another. Dad toured with them in Mexico. Cheers to Oakland for such a juggernaut. I still think this session is the tightest performance put in the studio by them.

Take a little time for excellence, as a treat.

Gender is like mayonnaise.

It's fine in small quantities for people who like it, but some folks just will not stop smearing it all over everything.

I've always gravitated to games with lore and great sound & music. Ori, Stray, Journey, Black Mesa, everything Supergiant, E33, and more recently @soulframe.com.

DE has done a lot of good music, but Soulframe's sound is when you take a well oiled team and give them a clean slate to explore.

This is *really* well done! If you are a fan of Tachikoma, NGE, had childhood thoughts of wandering the Imagineering catacombs at night, or just like really well drawn and voiced animation with amazing world building and character design, watch!

David Gilmour is a key person I think of when 'lasting impact on music' is mentioned. He's not a diva, he's a musician. And his daughter Romany is following in his footsteps with vocals that haunt you as you stare into the fire. I hope we see much more music from her in the future.

Yay, aurora we can see! Oh, 99% cloud cover and incoming rain. Typical. Also I miss being in the lee of the hill in West Seattle, shielded from downtown for looking at the sky. Don't miss the 1-2 bridges to get everywhere though.

I just went through my catalog and answered these (omitted 18 (opsec) & 26 (never associated a non-experience to that) and merged 24 & 25 b/c every instance I could think of they were the same).

Every answer is in my library and no repeated artists. Now to see if they're all on YT, SC, or BC ><
Well, this is extremely my shit, let’s go

Previous post brought to you by finding a new artist to me who's been in the game for a while now. Keeno. Orchestral Drum & Bass. At 19 was signed with Hospital Records, now has his own label. Sound design, vocal clarity, musicianship, all brilliant. Explore: soundcloud.com/keenodnb

Some tough love for EDM producers: if you are releasing solo tracks <2.5min that aren't part of a soundtrack or a sample library, stop. Just stop. Go back to school, b/c the trades need you. Keep it a hobby and you'll be happier.

This kind of discourse highlights an overly affluent, media-first perspective on what is and is not effective organizing. Whether or not the right “farms the left for content” is irrelevant when mass action disables their ability to reproduce their movement. It’s not a member war, it’s a street one.

The latest Berklee find for me is thanks to 33 West in NYC, Rijah's latest song Rush Hour. She has a full band version on her YT channel (@Rijahmusic), but this one is just her and her work.

Some light in the darkness as a treat.

Berklee College of Music is the Reimann Zeta Function of music. You can't veer too far away without happening upon it again.

IMO, it is their unique ability in polishing an artist's authenticity through their programs that keep hitting for me. Their fingerprints are everywhere.

News on the multiple locations this roving hategroup will or may be in. Situation is evolving, so keep an eye on the coverage. I do find it amusing they picked 2 parks that aren't really defensible.
Christian supremacists aren't coming to Cal Anderson on August 30, but they're still coming to Seattle. The city met with organizers and convinced them to move "Revive in 25" to Gas Works Park instead.

This is no ordinary prayer rally.

Obviously this is an unsigned range of health handle handler or maybe a handler handle to health. ;)
This is the function in Spyro: A Hero's Tail's code that resets your health and reloads the game after a death.
It's called "urghhhImDead".

People often mistake my commitment to wanting everyone to have human rights and healthcare to mean I love everyone or something.

I do not.

I just think baseline survival shouldn't be based on who I personally like.

I reserve the right to hate folks and never ever give them a moment of time, tho.

This article is so powerful because it describes something that a lot of queer people have experienced -- generational trauma -- but it's not linked to biological families. And that makes it harder to see, even when we feel it.
"There’s the gagging ouroboros of history... you’re beating your fists against a wall that bears the indents of countless fists, going back forever."

Over in Autostraddle, I write about queer generational trauma: how it works, and how to tell stories about it.

What Is Queer Generational Trauma, and How Do We Tell Stories About It?
Lately, I've been obsessing over the concept of queer generational trauma: the pain passed down to us from our ancestors, which we bequeath in turn to those who come after us.

Radiohead's Weird Fishes, 18yrs on, is a track that keeps hitting for me, but Lianne La Havas' version hits like truck. It's like a hand gently rested on the back of your head while you're going through it.

Sometimes you need to feel the support to believe in it.
