Village peace (fire in the grate, everyone stuffed, dog snoozing on the sofa). It’s nice to be somewhere where there’s more than one room. I’ve always loved this house. It’s the kind of place where you just relax the moment you walk in.

Rural night walking. I always enjoy the bus ride here but it was dark so couldn’t see a thing out of the window. Good job I still had some phone battery left because I’d forgotten the cardinal rule of village life: carry a torch. I only knew when I was passing the farm because I could smell it.

It’s that time of year again. Angels over Truro. Someone just asked me for the route to the station, which of course is as familiar as the back of my hand. I guess I must look like someone who knows where they’re at.

Always strange to pass the old flat. Well, one of them.

No matter how much I have to do, there’s always time to watch the sea for a while.

Might be November but there’s a robin and a chaffinch making a heck of a noise in the trees.

Oddly enough it’s warmer outside than it was in the community centre

Rain has stopped (briefly, I expect) and wind’s dropped a bit. Glad I wore wellies though.

It’s a wild day to be going anywhere, and certainly not a workshop, but one must keep one’s appointments.

here's frank o'hara's beautiful poem “to the harbormaster”, and the joan mitchell painting of the same name which was inspired by the poem.

john ashberry later read “to the harbormaster” at o'hara's funeral

My consultant certainly didn’t hang around. Just received notification of the appointment for my follow up ultrasound. Next Friday afternoon.

I liked L'Étranger and thought it was well done. Benjamin Voisin makes an elegant, distant Meursault. I was surprised not to bump into anyone from the French group, though. Thought of staying around for the showing of Pillion later, which looked interesting, but the cold damp night sent me home.

It must’ve rained while I was in the cinema. The pavements are wet.Lucky to miss it. It’s freezing now though.

Nippier out than I expected. Already regretting lack of an extra layer.

I wish Bluesky had the option to lock accounts. Occasionally there are things I’d post but only for the immediate gang, not passing strangers. You can’t prevent reposts either. It’s one of the few things I like about Facebook. Anything I post there is only visible to friends unless I make it public.

Need to be organised and make best use of my time while not missing out on the sunshine. So much to do. Sorting room out so landlords can come in Sat. Screening of L’Etranger at the Poly. Workshop Sat morning. Job application to finish. Laundry. UC stuff. Maybe visit mates in old village. More films

I went back to sleep after, but this was the magnificent light at 7am. Those rooms opposite must have windows on both sides. See how the colours come right through?
