Union forces had suffered some 5,800 casualties but inflicted twice that on the rebels. When a chaplain asked General Thomas whether the dead should be sorted and buried by state in the new military cemetery, the Virginian who stayed loyal replied "Mix 'em up. I'm tired of states' rights.” (21

2.) An update from our Council as a whole.
St. Paul City Council calls for investigation of officers’ use of force during ICE operation
The Council is also seeking an examination of the police department’s adherence to the city’s separation ordinance.

I have Friday off 😛

And I'm sure anyone working retail would disagree

Could be worse

Which means yes, that 5,000 number could become 15,000 with no real change in capacity, meaning we'd still fall 1.3GW shy of what the coal plant was generating, so now 15,000 becomes 36,000, or half the size of Ramsey county. Not good!

Not saying solar/wind are *bad* ofc, just again trying to make the point that you shouldn't power the entire grid with them! Baseline is good, it means we don't need to build 3x the generating power than we actually need to maintain grid stability

Could probably assemble a St Paul -Duluth corridor as well but at this point I'd rather see NLX get done

I keep wondering where we're going to find another 3GW of generation when sherco and King go offline in the next 4 years and the answer so far seems to be "we aren't"
November 25, 2025 at 2:52 PM
From what I've gathered it really isn't. That and what you've shown would mostly involve curve straightening, which is much more expensive than just tightening some tolerances on straight track
November 25, 2025 at 4:28 AM
that's at least a 14% increase, so even if only 1/3rd of trackage is feasible that's about 5%, or around 2.5 hours faster on a route like the Empire Builder. That's not nothing
