The CIA relied on Afghan staff for translation, administrative and front-line fighting with their own paramilitary officers in the war.

If the president now starts deporting Afghan translators, who will help us during the next war? From any country?

Knee jerk reaction incoming.

Blatant fucking corruption under rule of law

A Georgia prosecutor announced Wednesday he was dropping state charges against President Donald Trump stemming from his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, ending what was once considered the strongest criminal case against Trump.

Every single American should be concerned with the rapid increase of mass surveillance under ICE. It will not go away when they feel they’ve accomplished their mission of getting rid of all the non-white people.

One notable thing about this is they're being investigated by a court-appointed USA in Maryland, because they've failed to get a Senate-confirmed one. A future reform worth considering is expanding that, perhaps carving out public corruption cases and making them always under a court appointee.

It's backfired so spectacularly that now *they're* the ones being investigated.

BS—we don’t have to leave, they do.
Even with the inarguable threats posed by the Trump administration, many still see the idea of leaving the U.S. as an admission of defeat.

Just like that. After a week of frantic diplomacy and U.S. threats against Ukraine, Putin rejects ANY agreement.

The only path forward is pressure on Russia to change this stance—sanctions and resumed US military assistance to Ukraine. Otherwise, the last 10 months were a waste.

Gutting US counterterrorism and federal law enforcement capacity was a bad idea.

Sorry to get so partisan. I know the president wants to see more political violence in the US, and thinks it's important for federal forces to prioritize crackdowns on nonviolent, noncriminal migrants. I just disagree.

I guess it’s a good thing we were so concerned about the right to speak our opinions being outlawed by a ruling class that we guaranteed it by making it the very first amendment in our Bill of Rights when we formed the country.
