Current work on Boleyn Rd (C1) is for paving on the east side of a new ("electric"!)🚶crossing (pics 1,2).

This possibly signals the end of the works, so there could be some road resurfacing along here sometime soon.

This isn't Amsterdam. (Honest!)

We successfully campaign for more cycle lanes, school streets, zebra crossings, 20mph speed limits and parking controls, all of which can make school zones safer places to walk, ride or scoot

These non-coercive measures need to be combined with measures such as higher driving costs or reduced car access to have an effect

For many families, it’s the only affordable way to access cargo bikes: a true alternative to the car that supports children’s health, reduces congestion, and improves air quality. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💚🌬️

Leave the C2W limit-free (although a lot of schemes have limits anyway. Mine is £3k).
Insist that cycles bought under C2W have to have mudguards and lights so are practical for year round use. that stops the leisure arguments straightaway.
Compare and contrast the Government language.

£3,750 EV grant on a £35k car: ‘helping families’.

Cycle to Work: ‘subsidising leisure’.

And yet cycling delivers TEN TIMES the impact of electric cars for reaching net zero. It’s almost like narrative, not data, is driving policy.

I don't think a sticker from the police saying it's 'not allowed' highlights the dangers of pavement parking to drivers.

I think it highlights to drivers that they can do something that's not allowed, with full knowledge of the police, and face zero consequences.
