This Samuel Huntington quote helps make sense of Rubio's call to arms: "the West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion, but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do."
Secretary of State Marco Rubio giving a speech that is basically an extended version of the ethnonationalist Proud Boys oath: “I'm a proud Western chauvinist, I refuse to apologize for creating the modern world.”
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.

NEW: This was the last essay I was supposed to publish at the Washington Post. But they fired me.

I'm publishing it anyway-- about my family's connection to a sword the British looted from Ghana in 1874.

If youve ever wondered why I love swords, here's why.

The "Return" of the Golden Sword
My grandfather guarded it. The British stole it. I'm named after it—and I'm going to fight for it.

Sir Jim Ractliffe says UK has been "colonised" by immigrants. He's the billionaire co owner of a Manchester Utd team that depends almost entirely on players who are migrants or children of. “Colonized” is the violence your lot did to the rest of the world, Mr. Ractliffe. It's how UK got rich

Every day reminder that the USA keeps a criminal blockade in Cuba because the local population fought against the local and american Elites who were making Cuba the Epstein’s Island from the 50’s.
The United States is purposefully blockading Cuba from accessing fuel that powers everything from grocery stores to hospitals. People will die. Children will die. What's being done to the people of Cuba is monstrous.

The people in power were ok with it in Gaza and now they're doing it to Cuba.
