It's hard to find the words to react to Shabana Mahmood's policy on asylum seekers announced today. But thankfully this should show why her position isn't tenable: the world is as dangerous as it was when she was in opposition. Her change of position is career orientated.

Despite many warnings from US right wing nutters who have never left their home let alone their country, I’m off to that there London for a weekend of shenanigans with my son. Pubs, curry houses and record shops will will be emptied. Hope you all have as wonderful a weekend as I’m planning. 🐾🐾🐾
