One of my favorite finds from 2024 - recent snow transformed this desert landscape - when the snow melted, it made the soil wet, completely bringing out all the awesome textures.

Ik was 7 of 8 denk ik. Sinterklaasavond. Mijn zus deed gesneden worst om augurkjes. Ik at vanaf mijn vroege jeugd al geen vlees. Maar ik kreeg geen augurkjes meer, want ik had er al twee op. Rechts mijn opoe (=oma) die elk jaar pantoffels kreeg!

Een experiment met Physcomitrella patens (slibmos) aan de buitenkant van het ruimtevaartig ISS heeft aangetoond dat deze soort minimaal negen maanden in leven blijft in de ruimte. Dat opent prespectieven voor een verblijf van mensen op andere planeten.

Melkveestallen stoten flink meer stikstof uit dan tot nu toe werd aangenomen. Die nieuwe kennis vraagt om een aanpassing van de stikstofmodellen. De precieze gevolgen daarvan zijn nog onduidelijk.
