This works beautifully, Dan! The color contrast and the apparent diagonal flow of the grey background (probably due to the lighter coloration) is really compelling!

The magnificent dead trees of Namibia's Deadvlei draw beautiful graphical shapes against a neighbouring red dune, towering more than 300 m/ 1000ft above. A unique, almost surreal scene, so typical of Namibia!

This year had very much been one where I really stopped trying to stick to one particular style of image and just opened up entirely to less obvious scenes. However, old habits die hard. Big, open, airy landscapes will always be my true love. #LandscapePhotography
