Ok, here I think is the main problem with Stranger Things. At some point after the first season they forgot that all the shit about monsters and parallel dimensions was supposed to be allegorical.

There a whole bunch of things in this show that are period inaccurate. Like, for instance, there is a scene where Mike's mum is in hospital and she can only communicate by writing, but her penmanship is terrible! She's holding the pen like a spoon and scrawling like a dang millennial.

Theres a scene in the first episode where Dustin is at Eddie's grave and he's confronted by four bullies, and the first three all say something threatening but the fourth one just says "hiya", and it really made me laugh.

The children are so elderly.
