if you ask students to list the causes of the Irish famine and they just say “the Irish are demonic” can you really not fail that kid?

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

If you're faculty in any sort of public college in a red state, you're liable to have someone make a spectacle of your course, assignments, or teaching, run to social media, and get you fired for it because they disagree. You can't run a university like this.

This happened *at a university* in Gaza.

And yet our institutions still collaborate with Israeli schools.
