teaching kids how to write and express their thoughts is important but how many dumbass takes have been brought into the world by the fact that essay writing taught in public education is generally really low level, half ass busy work or overly rigid assigned formulae

Fifteen minutes later the handler returns and passes me a Crested Caracara. We repeat the same process. I'm animatedly presenting information on a bird I'd only ever read and dreamed about to a crowd of strangers while trying to take in the idea that any of this is happening. It made me feel ALIVE.
