Despite such a broad array of features, each clade is of the same overarching species. Animal-folk face a large amount of discrimination in their world from the more humanoid faerfolk -- with stigma and superstition that persists into modern eras."

Original fanart by Teabiscuits depicting a fictional/non-canon "Neopets" species called "Kiriphym". These creatures are shown to be a hybrid of sea-turtles and sea-dragons, though with suckered-tentacles as ears/antennae. There are several color-variations of the design shown to the right, including Neopets exclusive colors such as "Valentine" and "Chocolate". The main text reads as follows: "Kiriphym, a Neopets fan-concept by Teabiscuits. Native to the reefs of Maraqua, Kiriphym are a playful species which lead idyllic lives amongst gentle waves. He is a large-bodied Dry Bones style koopa, similar to Dry Bowser, with a spiked shell and hollow ribcage containing a non-canon item called a "pure heart."
