Me: oh okay so XSLT supports JSON? maybe "atproto XSLT can just be ACTUAL XSLT!"
*one short investigation of XSLT later.*
wow... this is super not viable as a technology here.

I've been trying to re-find this article for ages, thanks to @jdp23.thenexus.today for digging it up for me.
If you haven't read it and have any interest in content warnings and/or the design of social spaces on the internet, I strongly recommend it.

The noncon rules are probably more about complying with the TAKE IT DOWN act than anything (and therefore you probably don't need to worry too much if you're not making AI-generated revenge porn), but the chilling effect it's had on artists is really bad and I wish bluesky would clarify their intent

I love this news so much
Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...

I feel like "You can't solve social problems with technical solutions" has started to become a thought-terminating cliche.

As someone who had literally no opinion on Margaret Mitchell going into this, she is really demonstrating that she doesn't deserve my respect in record time.
Literally every one of these suggestions fatally compromises critical safety features because she's mad people have an opinion about her and she wonders why people don't trust her claims that she should be a special princess exemption to people disliking AI because she's a safety expert

How do people not understand yet that "no blocklists" is not actually a design choice for a social network.
Your options are "on-platform blocklists" and "off-platform blocklists." Because blocklists WILL exist no matter what you do!
